Policy is a life-long musician, having studied piano, flute, and guitar. After pursuing a predictable professional degree path in New York City, Policy quit the rat race to make movies, co-directing and co-writing two feature-length films. Policy's music is inseparable from his love of movies and soundtracks. After trying unsuccessfully to obtain rights to an Aphex Twin track for his first film, Policy decided to create his own "inspired" version, beginning his late-night electronic beat obsession. Policy's sound is a deeply American one, combining an outsider, immigrant perspective with drum machine dreams to create something fresh and classic at once.
