Celebrities Share Their Favorite Poems at "Poetry & the Creative Mind"

Join a star-studded gathering of actors, musicians and artists for a celebration of National Poetry Month as the Academy of American Poets presents "Poetry & the Creative Mind". Oscar winner Holly Hunter, Academy Award-nominated actress Debra Winger and groundbreaking activist and writer Gloria Steinem are among the esteemed guests who'll be sharing their favorite poems. You'll also find out which poetic words have moved the hearts of musicians like Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), chanteuse Vanessa Williams and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson. The diverse line-up of poetry lovers goes on to include renowned chef Anita Lo, "America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon and iconic dancer and choreographer Judith Jamison. This always-inspiring event at New York's Lincoln Center benefits the Academy of American Poets' educational programs, including the National Poetry Month celebration.
