About Paleface

PALEFACE is an American musician and artist currently on tour as high-energy indie-folk three piece band in support of their Ramseur Records follow-up One Big Pary. Paleface celebrated the release with a special guest-performance alongside The Avett Brothers at NYC???s Radio City Music Hall, followed by US and Europe tours. Soon after the album's release, Daytrotter.com featured a brand new live stripped down recording session by Paleface, and one of the tracks was voted "Daytrotter's Best of the Year - Reader's Choice". And later PASTE Magazine premiered "PALEFACE - The Making of 'One Big Party'", a short documentary which follows Paleface during the process of recording, touring and performing, and features interviews with Paleface, his darling drummer Mo, and friend Scott Avett of The Avett Brothers. PALEFACE welcomed the new year with a new music video for the tittle-track to their latest release One Big Party (Ramseur Records). The video has received television exposure via MTVu show The Freshman as well as via On-Demand programming, retail and web (Mtv.com, VH1.com, Magnet Magazine...). PALEFACE's brand new live Mountain Stage performance is being distributed worldwide by National Public Radio (NPR) and the Voice of America's satellite radio service.

Paleface was schooled musically by friend Daniel Johnston and soon discovered by the legendary Danny Fields (The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5) at an NYC open mic. He has since released over a dozen records including two major label releases, and he's collaborated and performed on three albums by The Avett Brothers. Paleface has influenced and inspired a wide range of musical acts, from electropopsters YACHT, to Grammy Award recipients Kimya Dawson (The Moldy Peaches / Juno), and Beck who calls Paleface ???a big influence on my early work??? on Annie Leibovitz???s book American Music. At the moment, Paleface is in the process of writing a new album to record with his band later in the year, and in the meantime he's just self-released Multibean Bootleg Vol.3, a collection of raw demos, live performances and outtakes.

???You???ll be hard-pressed to find a more appropriately-titled record this year. One Big Party is one big sonic shit-eatin??? grin. Joyous, carefree and catchy as hell, this record is a perfect and cost-effective antidote to whatever ails ya??? My Old Kentucky Blog

"Influential cult hero Paleface, a man who has been on the cutting edge of contemporary music's continual fascination with traditional Folk music and an influence on some of the most adventurous musicians who seek to translate that vintage spirit into their own voice." City Beat, Cincinnati

"Whenever I hear the inspired music of Paleface, I am transported to a magical and happy place. Nothing else matters. Except the exceptional music that Paleface is accustomed to making. It has that early Dylanesque folk rawness to it so when it comes to Paleface???s eclectic style of folk and indie pop stylings, I just sit back, unwind, and crank up the stereo. Totally adore this band!" Loudvine.com

???From the outset Paleface???s new album, One Big Party, makes no amends for the raucous, boot-stomping experience in store...These songs are catchy and upbeat, retaining Paleface???s lyrical openness and sly sense of irony. ??? East Nashville Blog

"Playing folk music in its simplest form, the pair shined a rare beam of sincerity in a music world bogged down by false glitz and glamour...We should all feel so privileged to be able to get up so close and personal to a musician who can turn the air in the room blue by simply opening his mouth. His words are gorgeous and bloody with heartache, and the effortless way in which he holds a roomful of folks captivated is a beautiful thing." Show Review by Ink19

???Paleface composes folk music in earnest, with a bluesy vocal delivery that portrays a feeling of something genuine and well-intentioned" KDHX 88.1FM St. Louis, MO
