About Onda Vaga
Onda Vaga was born in Uruguay to from the union of musicians of two Argentine bands: Doris (Nacho Rodríguez and Marcelo Blanco) and Michael Mike (Marcos Orellana and Tomás Justo Gaggero) who joined Germán Cohen (Satellite Kingston) on vocals and trombone. Since its birth in 2008, Onda Vaga chose not to walk the usual road to promote their work in the music industry. Thanks to the buzz generated by their loyal public that continues since the early days, it became a cult success with ongoing performances, always to sold out audiences. Six years after its inception, the band has three studio albums: "Fuerte y Caliente" (2008), "Espíritu Salvaje" (2010) and "Magma Elemental" (2013) that anointed the local scene. As well, four European tours and consolidation as a band revelation in the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan where they played on the same stage with bands like Radiohead, Stone Roses, Justice, Beady Eye and Noel Gallagher. The band has performed in front of over 10 thousand people and was highlighted by Billboard for his energy on stage and public acceptance. Their official Facebook account exceeds 227,000 fans and the participation of people with shared comments and posts on their own walls shows the clear enthusiasm and loyalty of the audience to the band. Onda Vaga filled the historic Luna Park Stadium in 2013 to a full house and again in September arriving on Japanese territory for the second consecutive year. They toured Chile, Mexico, Perú, Spain, Morocco and other parts of Europe and their album, "Magma Elemental", is placed 2nd in the ranking of sales in the category "World Music" Tower Records Japan.
In 2014 they shared the stage with the emblematic Beatle, Ringo Starr and were one of the highlighted performances in Argentina's Lollapalooza festival, where they shared the scene with artists like Arcade Fire, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Phoenix. In 2015 they went on their fifth self-managed tour to Europe and started recording their fourth studio album which will be released in early 2016.
