About NYC benefit for the White Helmets, feat. Ikillya, Driven Mad, Fate Breaks Dawn, Robots and Monsters, Spectral Voices

IKILLYA is the ferocity that follows the moment of clarity created by the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. The human strength of will has been shown to be capable of achieving the impossible, and never is it more focused than when we are pushed to our absolute limit. Creating music has been our primary goal as long as we've had the cogitative ability to have a primary goal and all t...oo often it is in direct opposition to the realities of everyday life.
Our mission is to create heavy music that is exciting to play, forces us each to grow as artists, and elicits raw emotion from the listener. We write from the desperate need for others to hear us and, frankly, play because we are genetically compelled to. Our new EP Recon is a collection of warning shots assembled from our first adventures as a complete unit. Each song represents a point in our mutation and a glimpse at what is yet to come. Recon is the beginning of the war for our lives.
We hope that our songs can be both our own sonic therapy and the knot at the end of someone else's rope. Hang on friends. Your life is in your hands, and as long as you have air in your lungs, you can conquer the world.
Breathe, focus, IKILLYA.

"Driven mad" sums up this band's ethos well: the songs are surely driven... they're mad... and the intent is to push listeners past the brink of sanity--after a stopover in the emergency room.

The latest endeavor from the founders of NYC's prominent metal act King Hell, Driven Mad's sound ranges from hardcore thrash to crushing slabs of Sabbath, shifting seamlessly from blistering technical thrash to avalanche '70s metal grooves. The twin genesis of sounds lies in the writing process. "We write two ways," says guitarist Dmitri Kalmar. "Holed up in our rooms, which generates the mathy shit, and jamming in rehearsal sauced on cheap wine, which tends to give us the stoner durge stuff. Basically we want to crush your skull and then get you high." Whatever the roots of the songs, the intent, and effect, is to absolutely wreck audiences, be it by the knife or the boulder.

Driven Mad released their debut EP "Disorder" in late 2012, produced by notable NYC producer Stacy O'Dell (Killcode, Panzie, and many more), and are at work on a follow-up EP due in September of this year. Playing extensively throughout NY and expanding across the Tri-State area, the band has already ascended to headliner status--most recently at Webster Hall Studio in NYC to a packed house--with East Coast touring planned for late 2013.

Spectral Voices is a 5 piece experimental metal band from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. However, they like to fuse different genres/styles of music to deliver a unique sound.
