About Norman Frank, Jessie Davis, Brenda Nicole Moorer

Norman Frank’s music is equal parts soulful and heavy, praising and damning, American and global. A musically rich tapestry of R&B, Afrobeat, Jazz, Vintage Pop, and World, all rooted in the fertile musical delta of the Blues. Every song is a world within itself, never quite taking the listener to the same place twice, yet somehow managing to connect these manifold musical journeys through sounds that transcend time. Typically performed by a goliath ensemble of instrumentalists of every stripe, The Ghost Dance is the sound of worlds past brought current, the way music is supposed to be made: by people, for people. Not to be missed, this music will get you on your feet, and put you on your knees.

Jessie Davis has always had music in her blood; it's taken many complicated surgeries to remedy the malady.  Based in Brooklyn, Jessie Davis' eclectic sound is best described as Future Soul. Founding "The Nebraska Jones Experiment" as a one woman show on a subway platform, she has since expanded the project into a collective of musicians from all over the world, bringing original and popular music to life in an all-you-can-dream special.  The experiment has manifested itself into her 3rd album release.  However the project is more than just a record.  It is a collective of music lovers from around the world who have contributed their eyes, ears, hearts, and talents to create a brief snapshot of this musical journey.  Whether you catch Jessie performing in one of her many New York residencies,  on a festival stage, or behind the turntables djing 90's throwback booty-shaking dancehall one thing is clear: Jessie Davis puts her heart and soul into everything she does. An undeniable talent, Jessie's voice goes from soft and sultry with a classic familiarity to filling every corner of the room with an electric intensity in the skip of a needle.

The list of Jessie Davis' collaborators reads like the liner notes of mix tape for a summer crush, within the span of a decade Jessie had aliened herself with some of the strongest talents in the industry.  Be it a microphone, turntables, or a piano when Jessie Davis steps behind one she demands your attention, taking everyone in the room on a journey of where her heart has been.

Brenda Nicole Moorer is the sweetest voice to grace a microphone, a smooth breath of air. She encompasses folk writing with a soulful sound, using what she learns about life to tell a story and promote a message. She can easily be deemed the "sugar of soul" with her sweet voice and chilled out sound. With the February 2014 release of her follow up EP, "For Lovers & Believers," Brenda presents simple melodies atop laid back rhythms, heavy Rhodes, and underlying synths. She teamed up with Jesse Fischer of Soul Cycle Music to create a vintage feel.

Brenda’s depth and variety of music can be attributed to her varied upbringing. Exposed to a variety of cultures, from the inner city of Milwaukee Wisconsin to the brilliant culture of Copenhagen, Denmark through her life. Her music runs deep being the granddaughter of singer Alvis Moorer, from the 60’s group, The Esquires. In Brenda’s early career, she sang in Dave Hollister’s all girl group NIA. Later, she sang background for Dave Hollister, and dozens of artists including jazz vocalists Julie Dexter. This was all before the age of 16. During these early years, she performed on stage with a host of artists including Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Mya, and Omarion; as well as singing across stages in America all the way to the Netherlands. In 2011, Brenda released her debut album "Songbird," independently through Yellow Orchid Records. The album, being well received, was placed in rotation on Pandora and reached success on UK stations. This was no small feat for an indie artist without a team.

As a self taught guitarist and pianist, Brenda is a musician in her own right and a creative spirit with something to offer. With a sound that can stick around a while, she is attempting to create honest music. She says, “I want my music to mean something to somebody. If I can do that then I've succeeded as an artist in every sense.”
