Swedish Jazz: MUSICMUSICMUSIC and The Splendor

ABBA's not the only name in town when it comes to Swedish popular music. New York's Scandinavia House brings back the award-winning pianist Fabian Kallerdahl, and his ensembles MUSICMUSICMUSIC (MMM) and The Splendor for a night of contemporary jazz. MMM plays both classic favorites and new compositions by Kallerdahl at festivals across Europe and on more than half-a-dozen CD releases. Blending acoustic sound with live electronics, The Splendor quartet also features Kallerdahl on piano, and is more experimental and improvisational in style. They've released a trio of critically-acclaimed discs.
