Kid In The Attic is from Brooklyn and likes drums, weirdos and overdubs. Maia has been performing under the name Kid In The Attic, solo and with a revolving cast of characters. She's also in the synth-pop band Mitten and a touring member of Mirah and Mal Blum.

Beat Radio has been making hazy, literate, heartfelt pop songs since 2005. Frontman and songwriter Brian Sendrowitz’s early demos were quickly embraced and championed by music bloggers, and the music was compared to that of such luminaries as Sparklehorse, Luna, and The Weakerthans. Brian Ver Straten joined in 2007 and expanded upon the band’s sound with his distinctive and understated drumming. Beat Radio has developed a loyal and passionate fan base around the world through a steady stream of mp3s and limited run CD-R releases.

Beat Radio’s first full length LP, The Great Big Sea, was released in 2006 and earned an 8/10 rating from Drowned in Sound. Safe Inside the Sound and Golden Age followed is 2009 and 2010, respectively. The latter saw the band featured on Insound’s staff blog as Band of the Week, and earned them an honorable mention in the L Magazine’s annual NYC Bands You Need to Hear feature.

In 2012, Beat Radio set out to produce what they referred to as an expansive, adventurous concept record that sonically and thematically falls between Bruce Springsteen’s Darkness on the Edge of Town and Robyn’s Body Talk. Hard Times, Go! fulfills this promise and is the band’s bravest and most personal record to date. The album was recorded in Sendrowitz’s home studio in Bellmore, NY, and will be released digitally and as a limited edition 150 gram red or clear 12” Vinyl on February 19th, 2013 on Awkward For Life Records.

JESSE RIFKIN (b. 1986) is a musician and composer, currently living in Brooklyn, NY. He was the leader and principal songwriter behind the experimental folk collective The Wailing Wall (2005-2010) and the heavy psychedelic rock band Jane Eyre (2011-2013).

He has performed at such venues as the Mercury Lounge (NYC), Ars Nova (NYC), the Troubadour (LA), the Andy Warhol Museum (Pittsburgh), and SXSW (Austin); appeared alongside such artists as Mount Eerie, Mary Timony, Mountain Man, Tim Fite, Real Estate, Avi Buffalo, and A Hawk and a Hacksaw; and received acclaim from such publications as Pitchfork, The New Yorker, and The Big Takeover, as well as on WNYC's "Soundcheck" and WFMU's "Beastin' the Airwaves."

He recently completed work on his forthcoming debut solo album, Glitter Lung, with engineer/mixer Jeff Berner (Psychic TV, NAAM).
