Detroit Soul Music invades New York City!

Melvin Davis, the Detroit Soul Ambassador, comes to New York City with the Drew Schultz Funk Machine. Legendary in the Northern Soul scene, Melvin is a prolific songwriter, singer, drummer, and producer who has played drums on Smokey Robinson & The Miracles "Tears of a Clown," written songs for artists including Mavis Staples, The Dirtbombs, J.J. Barnes, Steve Mancha, and more, sang lead on the platinum selling 8th Day smash "Crawl Before You Walk," and performed/recorded with Wayne Kramer of the MC5. This show celebrates the release of Melvin's newest record "Double or Nothing," as well as Drew's Back To Class series, which has featured a jawdropping roster of soul music legends including Melvin, the Four Tops, Funk Brothers, Dennis Coffey, and many more. At the show, Drew will release a new single featuring Lawrence "LAW" Worrell of P-Funk/Amy Winehouse, and Milo Z.
