Melbourne Ska Orchestra: Big Band With Nicky Bomba

Australian legend has it that the Melbourne Ska Orchestra was born in 2003 when a bunch of musicians came together to set a world record for the largest number of horn players on one stage. Unfortunately, no one bothered to check whether or not they'd earned a place in the Guinness book. Still, they sounded great together, so they formed a band. With the charismatic Nicky Bomba as their frontman, the reggae specialists conquered their homeland and then headed to Europe, where they sold out their first London show, and played the legendary Glastonbury Festival. Now they're poised to take over the States with their funky Down Under twist on the ska sound at New York's B.B. King's Blues Club.
