About Mary Chapin Carpenter

Mary Chapin Carpenter: Grammy-Winning Singer-Songwriter

The sensual vocals and poetic songwriting of Grammy-winner Mary Chapin Carpenter helped propel her 1992 country album "Come On Come On" to quadruple-platinum status. It also launched her record-breaking string of four consecutive Grammys for female country vocalist. Since then, she's continued to produce evocative Americana folk-rock for herself and other artists, and recently released her 12th studio album, "Songs From the Movie", with orchestral elements evocative of a stirring film score. That follows her 2010 success "The Age of Miracles", which hit No. 1 on the U.S. Folk chart. She'll play her hits and more, accompanied by longtime friends Jon Carroll (piano) and John Doyle (guitars, bouzouki). Neo-folkie Aoife O'Donovan opens the show at Morristown's Mayo Performing Arts Center.
