Madaila, Lazar (ft. Ben Davis of Cuddle Magic)

Madaila is led by Mark Daly, formerly the frontman of Chamberlin. The pop juggernaut's debut record, "The Dance", is upbeat, synth-heavy, and catchy. Vocal skill and range are immediately apparent. But in the tradition of Prince and more recently Frank Ocean, there is an ornateness and occasional darkness to this pop music that exposes Madaila's complexity and musicianship. Tight arrangements and multi-instrumental performances showcase musical minds at work. Tight spandex and neon, technicolor attire showcase a different side. The band is a part of Future Fields, a musical creation & amplification group based in Burlington, Vermont.


About Benjamin Lazar:

Brooklyn, NY based Benjamin Lazar Davis is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. Not content with just one musical identity, Davis performs with various bands including Cuddle Magic, Baby States, BBgun, Joan As Policewoman, and 2001 in addition to performing solo work.

In between his busy touring and performing schedule, Davis came to Signal kitchen to record his version of a traditional Irish folk tune. Ever the consummate professional, Davis laid down the track in a matter of hours and the world was gifted this beautiful take on “The Streets of Derry.”
