About Low Frequency Version & Noctem Present Version 003
Todays electronic music scene revolves continuously on hype, and there are few artists and label camps that can rely almost entirely on their musical content to do their talking. Mala's 'Deep Medi' camp and V.I.V.E.K the artist are noted exceptions to this rule.
V.I.V.E.K's sound is his own. An amalgamation of dubbed out dread bass, singed with jungle vibrations and detroit tech. His music has an overpowering physicality to it; to hear is to feel. Influenced by the golden years of Drum N Bass and a steady diet of dub and roots music, V.I.V.E.K has been honing his musical construction skills since 2004. His rise to prominence started with the 'FEEL IT EP'
This 4 track EP captured his vision succinctly and solidified V.I.V.E.K's reputation as one of the most talented artists working in the 140 framework today. This year a new chapter has begun with V.I.V.E.K starting a new night with Mala called SYSTEM. The night is solely based around a soundsystem V.I.V.E.K has been building over the last 4 years. People who have been have testified to not hearing anything like it. Chest rattling, consciousness moving exclusives are the norm during a V.I.V.E.K set, and catching one of his performances is a potent reminder of why we all fell in love so deeply with the dubstep sound.
Thrust into the bass scene in 2013 with his heavy hitting debut EP Smear Dub/How ya feel, Karma immediately grabbed our attention. From the heavy hitting Basslines, the spacey percussion, to the haunting vocals, Karma is a force to be reckoned with. The most recent signing to the World Renown Innamind recordings, Karma is a staple in the Dubstep Scene. If you've never heard of him, make sure to check his new release Heal on Innamind. Its a big one. Don't be surprised if a few of his tunes get rewound as fast as he drops them!
Kursk is the owner and curator of InnamindRecordings, one of the most forward-thinking and tastemaking labels representing the deeper end of the 140bpm spectrum. Expect chest-pummeling sub frequencies, incisive percussive detailing and devastating freshness from a meticulously curated roster of talent. He is a true old-school DJ, immersed in the roots and dubplate culture that gave rise to the darker and more mysterious sound of dubstep.
