About Lies Beneath, Thorn Constellation, Rise to Burn, Valence, Vincent Price is Right

Lies Beneath is a five-piece metal band with influences ranging from thrash, to death-metal and hardcore. With classic dual-guitar attack, a crushing rhythm section, dynamic vocals and brooding soundscapes, this band creates an undeniable presence and demands captivation from any audience. In 2005, the band began heavily gigging the underground Long Island metal scene, quickly gaining a dedicated following. In the Summer of 2006, the band set out to record their first effort entitled "The Eidolon," a self-released LP featuring titles like "Exposure," "Mind Inside The Massacre," and "Combat Ready." Upon the album's release, Lies Beneath began experiencing new heights of popularity. An undeniable presence in the underground scene, they appeared at some of Long Island and NYC's biggest clubs including Don Hills, The Knitting Factory, and The Crazy Donkey where they opened for Kittie and Walls of Jericho. In the Summer of 2007 the band completed the roster by adding lead singer Nick Serr. In addition to being guitarist Ben Serr's brother, he is also the founding vocalist of the NY prog-metalcore band Engine, and brutal post-thrash group Resolution15. With the addition of Nick's growls and soaring vocal lines, Lies Beneath was ready to unleash their crushing sound to new audiences. In September of 2007 Lies Beneath appeared at Locobazooka at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. Thousands of new fans caught a glimpse of some of the band's newest material when they shared the stage with Shadows Fall as they warmed up for Heaven and Hell, Alice Cooper, and Queensryche. With the help of producer Corey Unger, founder and guitarist of seminal New England hardcore legends Blood Has Been Shed, Lies Beneath is currently writing and recording new material for their forthcoming self-titled album due for release on July 2nd, 2011.

Thorn Constellation is a five piece heavy metal band based out of Amityville, Long Island with members spanning from across Long Island, the Bronx and Brooklyn.

"Valence is rapidly developing into one of the most intelligent and compelling heavy progressive bands out there" -Prog Metal Zone

Valence is an instrumental band from New York that exists to push the boundaries of rock and bring the highest level of energy possible in doing so. Fusing metal, progressive rock, and jam, Valence creates a unique sound that is intelligent and energetic, yet still accessible. The focus is on expressiveness: their music can be aggressive or intense, at other times contemplative and introspective. Their compositions traverse different styles while their live show leaves audiences in awe. Their following is growing as accolades pour in, the most recent being an Independent Music Award nomination for their song "The Reckoning" in the Metal/Hardcore category.

Laser Baron, released on June 10th, 2014 is Valence's latest EP and despite having no lyrics, was written to tell the story of a scientist, Dr. Mervin Taylor, who builds a laser so powerful it rips a hole through space and time, transporting him to a future where his technology is a tool of oppression. In addition to the IMA nomination, the record has received glowing reviews, with Metal Temple describing it as "a solid, calculated album that bonds many genres and influences into one stable, prog-based element of modern melodic metal."

Starting with their initial effort, Sleepwalker in 2012, people have consistently remarked on Valence's eclectic style. Sea of Tranquility summarized this, saying the band doesn't "go all out progressive metal all the time, instead they also inject some atmospheric prog and tasty jazz-fusion into their sound which makes for a well rounded listening experience"

The band has played all across the northeast, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and recently Toronto for the NXNE Festival. They've played support for Consider the Source, Clutch, and The Sword at Garcia's at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, as well as Andrew W.K. at the Westchester Tattoo Convention, and opening for Angel Vivaldi at Trash Bar. Their live shows have drawn enthusiastic reactions, with Alternative Control saying "if you haven't seen them live, do yourselves a fucking favor and go. And then you can quit your own band."

"If you love some of the acrobatic, complex, and heavy material of current acts like Scale the Summit, Between the Buried & Me, and Animals as Leaders, this is a band you need to check out." -Sea of Tranquility

Vincent Price Is Right started in spring of 2011 as an Idea in a friend's backyard in Queens. It was a discussion about music between guys who had over the years played in punk rock, hardcore and metal bands, but had never broke any real ground. The idea was to get together and write some songs. that Idea was realized and with only four songs thrown together VPIR, as it is affectionately abbreviated, was asked to play a benefit for Cancer in honor of a friend who passed, whom is also the inspiration behind the song, Church. VPIR agreed to play the benefit, and they did badly. Although It triggered something, a viral youtube video, but more than that, it gave them the taste of performing.

Vincent Price Is Right would go on to play over thirty shows all over New York City, experience some line up changes and record a four song demo in 2012. The band is at its strongest with Nick on drums, Frank on bass, Andy on Guitar with Dave and Sean sharing vocal responsibilities. VPIR took a brief hiatus from playing shows in spring 2013 to refocus and prepare for the recording of their debut EP, Hessian, which is dropping August 17th. The Idea is present, to write songs they love and perform them, it's all pretty simplistic. The discussions are still going on for these five guys who love music. which is probably the reason listeners have such a hard time describing VPIR's sound. To simply call it metal is too vague. For Vincent Price Is Right it is a culmination of five individuals who listen to everything from punk, to thrash to death to black metal, to post hardcore, whatever it is you will not be disappointed by the Hessian EP, or VPIR's frenetic live show. Vincent Price Is Right are not trying to reinvent the wheel, they just want to fuck it and write their name on it.
