About "Liaisons: Re-Imagining Sondheim From the Piano"

Stephen Sondheim Himself to Attend Solo Piano Tribute

Eight-time Tony Award winner Stephen Sondheim has been described by "The New York Times" as "the greatest and perhaps best-known artist in the American musical theater," composing timeless hits such as "Into the Woods", "Company" and "Sweeney Todd". In recognition of Sondheim's contributions to the world of music, acclaimed concert pianist Anthony de Mare has commissioned some of today's leading composers to reimagine their favorite Sondheim songs as solo piano works in a tribute concert program that features a new original composition written by Wynton Marsalis. Cocktails, snacks and small plates will be available for purchase at Bar Thalia before and after the performance, which Sondheim himself will attend.
