About Leslie West

Classic Rocker Leslie West (Mountain, "Mississippi Queen") at B.B. King's

Singer-guitarist Leslie West is probably best known as the leader of the explosive hard rock trio Mountain, whose 1970 song "Mississippi Queen" has become a rock 'n' roll radio mainstay. But he's spent 30-plus years building a reputation as one of the most influential and innovative artists in music history. He's recorded and performed with legends like Billy Joel, Mick Jagger, Jimi Hendrix, and The Who, to name only a few. Guitarists Eddie Van Halen, Michael Schenker and Richie Sombora each cite West as a major influence on their own music, and you can hear his unique sound play a role in each of their styles. At New York's B.B. King Blues Club, West will perform songs from the Mountain discography, as well as selections from his own personal songbook. Opening the show will be Eli Cook.
