About Leo Liebeskind

Leo Liebeskind (b. August 1, 1993) is a twenty-year-old singer-songwriter from New York City. He is a multi-instrumentalist, proficient at guitar, piano, harmonica, and bass, and has been writing and singing original music since the age of twelve. Liebeskind has spent his past six years logging time playing at bars, coffee shops and other venues in and around New York City, including an appearance as the opening act for Pete Seeger at a benefit concert in Dobbs Ferry, NY when he was just 15.

In 2012, Liebeskind started "The Tour on Poverty," a project founded out of a desire to perform music while simultaneously helping those in need and attempting to build a better country for us all. He has since toured the country twice raising money for local charities fighting poverty across the US.

Liebeskind has made several demo recordings over his career, and just released his first full LP, "Lovechild," in March of 2014. Liebeskind played bass, piano, harmonica, many guitars, and sung all the vocals for the album.

Liebeskind relies on his poised, precise guitar playing, rich, textured vocals, and imaginative, poetic lyrics to create a blend of soulful blues, folk, country, and rock music. Through his lyrics, Liebeskind hopes to connect the political with the emotional in his impassioned acoustic roots rock music.
