About Laney Jones and the Lively Spirits
Armed with a distinctive voice and a handful of toe-tapping original songs, Laney Jones mixes a musical cocktail with a vintage flavor. This scrappy Americana singer-songwriter is making a name for herself in coffeehouses, speakeasies, and concert venues across the United States.
Laney’s performance resume includes emerging artist showcases at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, as well as the prestigious Kennedy Center’s American Voices festival where she performed a moving rendition of her original song “Broken Hearts” at a masterclass with the legendary Alison Krauss.
The Florida native currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts attending Berklee College of Music. In addition to juggling the responsibilities of a college student, Laney has been touring up and down the East Coast. She was selected as a recipient of Belk department stores’ Modern Southern Music sponsorship, earning her pre-show and sidestage spots supporting Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and Keith Urban. Also in 2014, Laney took home the grand prize at the 40th Eddie’s Attic Songwriter Shootout thanks to crowd-pleasing performances of selections from “Golden Road”.
