About Kahn & Neek / Hi5Ghost / Boofy / Star Eyes // RP Boo / Doctor Jeep / Tripletrain

The first time Star Eyes touched a turntable was at the age of 15, when she decided she wanted to take up Djing. Sick of listening to rave DJ's with bad taste in breakbeats, she began buying jungle with the intention of playing to her bedroom walls. After giving out tapes to her friends and having her mixes featured on L.A.'s Underground Source info line, friends began asking her to play out at local jungle events. At that time, she was the only female junglist playing out in the Los Angeles area. In 1995, Star Eyes moved to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley. Star Eyes' name would soon become synonymous with the San Francisco jungle sound. Founding the B.A.S.S. Kru with original members DJ Abstract, Flux, and Hak from San Jose, she helped throw a series of weekly clubs and one-offs (Bass Instinct, Audio Impact, etc.) that would establish S.F. as a hotbed for drum and bass to this day. Star Eyes also released Ruffage during this time, a tape which has passed through ravers hands from the West to East Coast and back again.

For the last six years, 22-year old Star Eyes has been an integral figure in West Coast drum and bass. With her skillful mixing, diverse track selection, and her ear for what works the crowd, she is known for tearing up dancefloors worldwide. She is one of the original residents (alongside Sage) of San Francisco's most popular and longest running drum and bass night, Eklektic, where she has played alongside UK favorites such as Storm and Bailey, John B, Fierce, and Technical Itch. Eklektic has been featured in Details, Playboy and Urb (among other magazines), as well as being named "Best Drum and Bass" club in San Francisco by the Bay Guardian. An avid traveler, Star Eyes has played internationally as well. Her overseas gigs include playing London's long-running Movement night (residents are Bryan G, JJ Frost, and Ray Keith), the Rachdingue club in Barcelona (Spain), the Bikini in Toulouse (France), and O.P.A. and Radio Nova in Paris, France. Stateside, she has rocked it from East to West. On the East, Star Eyes was a resident at Jungle Roots in Boston, and played in New York (Konkrete Jungle, Jungle Nation, Camoflauge), Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Miami. In the West, she is a resident with Dynamo productions in Seattle, and has played in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Salt Lake City. The Midwest loves Star Eyes as well: Chicago, Columbus, Minneapolis and Madison, as well as filling in for absentee headliners Trace and Ed Rush at the infamous Further rave in 1997. She has played alongside such heavy hitters as DJ SS, DJ Rap, DJ Dazee, Jumping Jack Frost, Storm & Bailey, Stakka & Skynet, Storm & Bailey, John B, Perfect Combination, Dieselboy, Dara, Rob Playford and many more. Star Eyes has been featured in Urb Magazine, Option, Xlr8r, Massive and Bean Magazine. You may have also seen Star Eyes' name in print – when she's not DJ'ing, Star Eyes (Viviann Host) is Editor for the San Francisco edition of Flyer Magazine and writes for dance music magazines nationwide.

Doctor Jeep is a 23-year old New York native known to most as Andre Lira. As a founder of Boston's Banana Peel crew, he's quickly gaining notoriety as one of the city's most diverse young selectors, blending upbeat house and techno with the global sounds of baile funk, dancehall, old-school uk garage, african percussionism and more. With eclectic DJ sets mixing the past, present, and future of dance music in some of Boston's best clubs, he has proven to adapt to any vibe and make it his own style of party.

Production-wise, Jeep's music has been described as "a style somewhere between the tropical inclinations of Dutty Artz, the grinding 808 electro of Swamp81, and the breakbeat-heavy sound of 90?s UK rave music." With several original EPs and remixes on Freshmore, Hot Mom USA, Trouble & Bass, Youngunz amongst other labels, and support from international artists such as Claude VonStroke, Armand Van Helden, Shy FX, Roska, B.Traits, Lando Kal, and Kastle, the future looks bright for this young producer.
