About Jimi Hendrix Memorial Show With The Cafe Wha? House Band

Hendrix Tribute at Cafe Wha? -- Music of "Jimmy" Returns Home

Back in '66, the Cafe Wha? house band was led by a little-known kid guitarist billed as "Jimmy James and the Blue Flames." But the Flames quickly burned out and Jimmy James soon left to become "Jimi Hendrix" ... and change the course of rock 'n' roll forever. Now forty-five years after Hendrix's tragic death, the new house band at Cafe Wa? -- this one led by guitarist and vocalist Kevin Andreas -- pays tribute to the man the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame holds up as "the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music." This show will span Hendrix's entire career - from the early R&B leanings, through "Are You Experienced" and into his more experimental "Band of Gypsys". Be there for this historic homage staged in the very same space Jimmy/Jimi used to work his extraordinary musical magic.
