About Jeff Jacobs, Tam Lin
New York based singer and songwriter Jeff Jacobs has a story that is anything but ordinary. While most young kids were in summer camp, Jeff's spent his summers immersed in the study of spirituality while on retreats with his mom and big sister. There Jeff developed seeds of selflessness and meditation which took root later in life as he found his true calling in the art of songwriting. His songs tell a poignant story of hope and love, as seen through the eyes of an old soul.
Described as "Love songs with a twist," Jacobs' debut EP, 'Enjoy The View' was recorded at the same studio where legends such as Paul Simon, John Mayer and Dave Matthews made their albums. The record explores the softer side of this vibrant young urbanite as he delicately embraces the craft of songwriting with storytelling at the forefront of the artist's palette. His sincere lyrics tell a hopeful tale as he captures the ballad and releases it with the honest passion of an ambitious heart. His colorful arrangements and soulful vocal hooks resonate strongest of all, creating a warm and heartful sentiment with the listener that commands a 2nd listen.
Jeff's song have been featured on various network television shows, including MTV's "Teen Mom 2." Upon release, his debut EP “Enjoy The View†was selected one of AOLMusic.com's featured albums of the week, and was among a dozen albums streamed worldwide alongside names such as R.E.M, Tony Lucca, and Hanz Zimmer.
For Jeff, it's all about how the songs make people feel. His greatest satisfaction is when somebody is moved by a song he's written.
In 2005, New York singer-songwriter Paul Weinfield formed Tam Lin, whose name comes from a Scottish ballad about a man taken in by the Queen of the Fairies. The name reflects Weinfield’s interests in magic and mythology, which together with his Leonard Cohen-esque flair for confessional songwriting form the heart of his unique folk-rock storytelling style, which No Depression Magazine described as “unafraid to push musical boundaries.” Tam Lin has released five full-length albums to date: Begin Again (2009), In the Twilight (2008), Floating World (2006), Garden in Flames (2011) and Medicine for a Ghost (2013). Known for poetic narratives, elegant melodies, and sonic landscapes, Tam Lin’s sound has been praised by Jezebel Music as “a rare, successful, genuine-sounding blend of old and new sounds.”
