About Janita
"This woman's got the goods. Stardom awaits." — Billboard Magazine
On the heels of the commercial and critical successes of her albums I'll Be Fine, Seasons Of Life, and Haunted, Janita now finds herself poised for an exciting and unprecedented 2015—a year that will see her release a new album, two major videos, and embark on U.S. and European tours.
Marie Claire writes, "Janita keeps listeners hooked…hear it!" The UK Telegraph adds, "She not only writes beautifully powerful songs, but sings with such passion and conviction that it's hard to take your eyes off her."
In addition to scoring two Top-40 hits on the U.S. Charts and gaining international critical acclaim, the Brooklyn-based artist has been performing constantly to sold-out houses and festivals, both in the U.S. and overseas. The 2010 release of her album Haunted cemented her reputation as both an electrifying singer-songwriter, and as an artist who has truly come into her own: "This belle can belt and pen. Janita teems with vocal wattage and knows it," writes The Village Voice. All Music Guide declares, "Janita's expressive, understated, and yet soulful performances prove (even) more beautiful than her silhouette."
This reputation and the acclaim for her previous albums has already fueled the anticipation for her new release—one that Janita is decidedly eager for her fans to hear. "I feel this new album fulfills a promise I made to my fans, and to myself. To grow, to build on what I've done, and do so with something that would be powerful, and beautiful. This is the most melodic and lush record I've ever made. But it also has an emotional and musical rawness to it that's intentionally unrefined, and unreserved. I love that combination, which is why I've never felt so excited about an album I've made before. I simply cannot wait for people to hear it."
Stay tuned for more news about Janita's new album, which will be released worldwide in early 2015 on ECR Music Group.
