You don't necessarily think of Canada when you think of Latin jazz. But after hearing Toronto's own Jane Bunnett in concert, you're probably going to change your mind. The saxophonist, flutist and bandleader has built her career at the intersection of Cuban music and jazz. Twice nominated for Grammy Awards and a fixture of the nominations for Canada's Juno Awards, she has turned her bands into showcases for the finest musical talent from Canada, the United States and Cuba. For this performance at Subrosa, Bunnett will be joined by Maqueque, her band featuring five other outstanding Latin musicians. Also performing will be Havana singer Dayme Arocena.
