About "Hi, Hitler"
Lucie Pohl Recounts Childhood Memories of Hitler, Hip-Hop & Hasselhoff
German-Jewish performer Lucie Pohl comes from a long line artists -- in fact, she's the grand-niece of German playwright and poet Bertolt Brecht. But from an early age, Pohl was more fascinated by another famous German: Adolf Hitler. In her one-woman show "Hi, Hitler", Pohl recounts the drama of moving from Hamburg to New York City at the age of eight and the hilarious experiences that followed as her family of bohemian Germans struggled to adapt to American life in the early 1990s. Hitler, hip-hop and a dash of David Hasselhoff combine to create comedy gold in "Hi, Hitler" at the Cherry Lane Theatre.Comments
