"Hey, Look Me Over!" Kicks Off 25th City Center "Encores!"

Sometimes those tried-and-true Broadway standards can feel so, well, "standard". So New York City Center had a brilliant idea: Take Broadway gems that have yet to be revived on the "Encores!" stage and use them as the inspiration for a brand-new show. The result? "Hey, Look Me Over!", a new musical that kicks off the 25th season of "Encores!" In a hilarious meta-twist, Bob Martin, as his beloved Man in Chair character from "The Drowsy Chaperone", plays an opinionated "Encores!" subscriber who leads the audience on a guided (and sometimes misguided) tour of his favorite scenes and songs from musicals he's always wanted to see at City Center: "All American", "George M!", "Mack & Mabel", "Wildcat" and more. A cavalcade of stars -- including Bebe Neuwirth, Clyde Alves, Reed Birney, Carolee Carmello, Britney Coleman, Clifton Duncan and Vanessa Williams -- join Martin for overtures and musical scenes, all culminating in a feel-good grand finale.
