David Fishel's one-hour documentary takes you behind the scenes of an innovative, site-specific art project that combines the talents of trained New York dancers, autistic performers -- and horses. Conceived in 1998 by choreographer JoAnna Mendl Shaw, The Equus Project creates large-scale works that partner humans and equines. In "Hästdans på Hovdala", you'll see one of these challenging pieces coming together in a forest near Hovdala Castle, one of Sweden's famed historic sites. An award-winning dance creator and educator, Shaw will be on hand following the screening for a discussion.
