Harold Mabern Quartet

In September 2013, saxophonist Cory Weeds hit the road with a new project fronting a trio led by legendary pianist Harold Mabern (Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, Wes Montgomery). The chemistry was instantaneous and the free wheeling Mabern was laying down the gospel of classic jazz everywhere he went. The quartet performed eleven shows in British Columbia in 2013 and subsequently hit the studio to cut an album that was released in June of last year. The session reached the Top 10 on the Jazz Week Charts. The band with Weeds, Mabern, Adam Thomas bass, Julian MacDonough drums, will perform music from the CD, As of Now, as well as Mabern originals and gems from the Great American Songbook.
