About "Glitter in the Groove"

UK Drag Star Jonny Woo's "Glitter in the Groove"

Alternative drag superstar Jonny Woo returns to New York with "Glitter in the Groove", his wonderfully unpredictable and hilariously anarchic account of how a country lad got to rule London's nightlife via a drag education on New York's Lower East Side. Woo's been called "the queen of London's drag scene" by "Time Out London" and has had work commissioned by the Royal Opera House, the Institute Of Contemporary Arts and the Royal Festival Hall, not to mention his hosting duties at major festivals like Glastonbury and Lovebox. For this Laurie Beechman Theatre engagement, the celebrated alt-cabaret artist mixes tongue twisters, rap and spoken word with original satirical and personal songs, the occasional indulgent lip-sync, new songs, plus a reprise of show-stoppers, like his one-man "Les Mis" and his anthem to a decade in drag, "Glitter In The Groove."
