About Fred LeBlanc (of Cowboy Mouth)

Fred LeBlanc is a musical multi-tasker.

A singer, songwriter, producer, drummer, frontman, and guitarist, he's spent the last 25 years as the leader of Cowboy Mouth, a band whose rock & roll spirit and celebratory live performances have made them legends in their hometown of New Orleans and beyond. At the same time, LeBlanc has also enjoyed a side career as a high-energy solo performer, touring the country with a one-man show that packs the same energetic punch as his Cowboy Mouth gigs. Armed with his acoustic guitar and a setlist that ranges from Cowboy Mouth favorites to solo songs, LeBlanc's solo performances allow him to leave his drum set at home, focus on his singing, and continue maintaining a strong connection with his audience.

"The intensity is the same, but the approach is different," he says of his one-man tours. "I don't sit there and smash my drums the whole time. I talk to the audience, make them part of the show and get them to participate. It's not a coffee shop performance; it's intense and energetic, with the same vibe and same amount of fun as a rock show — just at a slightly lower volume."

A dynamic performer, LeBlanc has performed for more than 9 million fans and sold upwards of 500,000 albums with Cowboy Mouth, whose signature song, "Jenny Says," remains a staple at his full-band and one-man shows. As the group's main songwriter, he writes his material on the acoustic guitar, an instrument he began learning as a 5 year-old in southern Louisiana. His solo shows represent the newest chapter of that long, successful story, proof that LeBlanc's performances can be just as upbeat, in-your-face and crowd-focused without the added oomph of his rock band.
