About Frank Shiner, The Real Me Live Tour
Back By Popular Demand!
"Vocalist Frank Shiner’s debut last week at The Cutting Room was such a success that an encore is being immediately planned for early-summer. Inside Chappaqua in their review said it appreciated “Frank’s repertoire of some of the best songs from the 70’s and 80’s; including Leonard Cohen’s ‘I'm Your Man’ and Van Morrison’s ‘Brand New Day.' Frank and Anthea White also rocked a duet, Paul Simon’s “Long, Long Day.” Accompanying vocals were: David Cutler, on Bass; Mark Palmer, keyboard and musical director; Hiroyuki Matsuura on Drums; Jay Rodriquez, Saxophone/Flute; and Chris Goercke on Guitar."

The arc of Frank Shiner’s musical artistry swings in that special place where his lifetime of experiences in singing and acting are able to breathe together and tell a story. “As a student of Shakespeare,” Shiner explains, “as a student of language, the
song is a play, and the lyric is the most important thing to me. If a pretty sound comes out after that, it’s a bonus, never the goal.”
With his Cutting Room debut, Frank Shiner performs songs from his acclaimed album, The Real Me by Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Randy Newman, Doc Pomus and Dr. John, Jimmy Webb, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, including his top 5 hit "Feels Like Home" and his current single, "The Real Me". The Real Me Live is a show with songs by some of contemporary music's best songwriters coupled with an impactful story that runs the gamut from laughter to tears to inspiration.
Shiner is that rare performer whose delivery evokes a certain classiness associated with Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Mel Tormé. Yet Shiner is lyrically rooted in the generation that belongs to Paul Simon, Tom Waits, Van Morrison, and Randy
Newman, just a few of the composers whose work is showcased by the singer.
"Frank Shiner sings these songs as if he wrote them. He sings with a maturity and a truth that comes from living and loving deeply and fully."
-NPR
"His performances at New York's best nightclubs have critics wearing out their thesauruses to find new superlatives."
-Bloomberg Radio
"His music is generating buzz around the country."
-The Journal News
"Just when you thought that Josh Groban and Michael Buble held the patent on amazing voices, along comes Frank Shiner to shatter those preconceived notions."
