About "For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls"

Tennessee Williams Plays Parodied by Tony-Winner Christopher Durang

Famed and enduring comic playwright Christopher Durang, winner of the Tony for "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" and the Obie for "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You", penned this series of clever shorts that parody the Southern gothic plays of Tennessee Williams. "For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls" is the purported sequel to "The Glass Menagerie", and "Desire, Desire, Desire" checks in with Blanche DuBois, who's had it with Stanley Kowalski and his bellowing for the long-gone Stella. The Theater Project stages this collection of comedies at Maplewood's Burgdorff Cultural Center.
