About Erik Charlston's JazzBrasil

JazzBrasil, Led by Vibraphonist Erik Charlton

Intricate jazz harmonies blend with Brazilian beats as JazzBrasil, helmed by Eric Charlston on marimba and vibraphone, performs the music of the legendary Hermeto Pascoal. Pascoal was already well-known in his native Brazil when he composed and recorded three pieces on Miles Davis' early '70s disc "Live-Evil". He's since released dozens of albums and is famed for his eclectic instrumentation, which includes toys, teapots and more. Charlston brings together several of New York's top sidemen, as well as the percussion team of Rogério Boccato and The Café, for this special performance at Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village.
