About Eric Lindell
“A tremendous raw talent…with a fully realized musical vision.” -Chicago Sun Times
“Pumping soul into funk, blues and roots-rock.” -USA Today
Lifelong roots music extraordinaire, Eric Lindell, has been making outstanding records since first releasing, Bring It Back in 1996. Crafting his own compelling sound and style of roots, soul and country he has won legions of fans across the USA and around the world. Beginning with Change In The Weather (2006 Alligator Records) Lindell’s music has received widespread critical acclaim and attention from the music media, including Rolling Stone, USA Today, the Los Angeles Daily News, Relix Magazine and many others. In 2008, Lindell came to the attention of producers for NBC-TV’s, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, and he subsequently performed on the show in February, 2009.
Backed by a sizzling-hot band on his national tour dates, Lindell continues to win more and more devoted fans, and his annual appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival have become legendary peaks of this prestigious event. When not on tour with his own band, Lindell can be seen and heard with New Orleans super group DRAGON SMOKE feat. Ivan Neville, Robert Mercurio and Stanton Moore.
On Matters of the Heart, Lindell continues his long-time collaboration with legendary Texas guitar ace, Anson Funderburgh, who contributes phenomenal lead playing throughout much of the album. Another friend of Lindell's, Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars, the Black Crowes) co-produced tracks on this album and adds some fantastic resonator slide guitar. Aptly titled, Matters of the Heart is a vibrant, compelling journey, a work filled with passion, devotion, and soul.
