Modern Danish Music From ensemble mise-en

Denmark is certainly known for its cutting-edge contemporary art and design, and this forward-thinking approach also extends to modern classical music. Now the innovative works of five of that country's greatest living composers comes to Scandinavia House for a concert courtesy of composer and founder Moon Young Ha's ensemble mise-en, which boasts some of the brightest young new music performers in New York City today. This talented group is set to perform Hans Abrahamsen's "Seks stykker" from 1984 and Per Nørgård's "Scintillation", written in 1993, as well as 21st-century pieces including Thomas Agerfeldt Olesen's "Dedications" (2000), Simon Steen-Andersen's "In spite of, and maybe even therefore" (2007) and Bent Sørensen's "The Hill of the Heartless Giant" (2001).
