About Emmett O'Hanlon with special guest
Newest member of Celtic Thunder hits the road solo – limited edition EP for tour only!
Irish American Baritone Emmett O’Hanlon will be on his first solo tour this summer across the USA. While the group Celtic Thunder takes a break from their large venue tours, their newest member, Emmett, will be performing more intimate shows. A lover of popular music standards and Broadway show tunes, Emmett will be singing an array of some of his favorites. He says, "This Tour is a chance for me to show the fans a side of me that most of them haven't seen before. When watching my show, my hope is that the audience is able to hear the person behind the voice and the emotion brought on by these incredible works of art."
On tour with Emmett will be musical director, David Munro, who he has worked with Sinead O’Connor, Moya Brennan, Finbar Furey, Phil Coulter, The Dubliners, Brian Kennedy, Samantha Mumba, Hayley Westenra and, of course, Celtic Thunder. Emmett says, "David and I are beyond exited to have the chance to present our takes on these incredibly beautiful classic songs."
There will be a CD EP (extended play) of four songs available for sale on tour only to audience members and will include ‘If Ever I Would Leave You’, ‘More’ and ‘Always on My Mind’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’.
Emmett was born and raised in New York City and he was just six years old when he began guitar, piano and drum lessons and started singing lessons at age eight. While in High School, Emmett made the decision to pursue a future in music, specifically singing. Since then he has received a Bachelor’s Degree in Voice from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where he also performed as a soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He went on to join the prestigious Julliard School in New York, where he is currently completing a Masters Degree in Voice. He recently took part in the “Julliard in Paris” project, as well as in this season’s Metropolitan Opera workshop production of The Sorrows of Frederick. At present, he is preparing for the role of Onegin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. Emmett is looking forward to his next adventure as a principal singer in a Celtic Thunder show. He recently began his touring career with the group when he performed onboard the 2nd Celtic Thunder Caribbean Cruise in November 2014, followed by the show’s first ever Symphony Tour.
