The Saratoga Springs, NY band DRYER started in 1992 and quickly became a small club and college radio staple throughout the United States during most of the 90’s, garnering comparisons to band such as The Pixies, Superchunk, Helium, Velocity Girl and Sebadoh. The band heavily toured the US, all while keeping Saratoga Springs their home base. At one point Dryer garnered attention from music heavyweights Atlantic Records, and had gone as far as recording demos for the record label. In 2002, the band called it quits after 10 years of playing shows, recording and releasing music that included 3 full length recordings, multiple 7? singles, several E.P.’s and appearances on many compilations. In 2010, DRYER reformed to celebrate the release of a 31 song collection of released and unreleased material titled STRUT AND FRET 1993 -2002 on Fake Chapter Reocords. The band is currently rehearsing new material for an upcoming release.
