About Drumming for Love Benefit featuring Eric Bolivar (Anders Osborne), George Porter Jr. (the Meters & Runnin' Pardners), Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk), Ada

Eric Bolivar is a musician who has shared his talents with people around the world many times over. This musical journey has seen him perform with a wildly diverse group of artists ranging from rock gods to jazz legends, revolutionary punks to hip hop poets, r&b/ funk royalty to cutting edge electronica artists.

Born into a musical family in the San Francisco Bay Area, Eric started playing drums at the age of 4 and immediately showed natural ability. By the time he was a freshman in high school marching band, he was already being asked to teach other high school drum lines. At age 17, he became a member of the 1991 World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard Drum line. While teaching and/or arranging for drum corps, high school marching bands and concert percussion ensembles, Bolivar would be performing in various groups in San Jose and the rest of the Bay area at night. Eventually, the road called and Eric has been globetrotting ever since. Eric's nearly constant touring, has seen him perform for crowds all over the world.

After re-locating to New York City and making a splash in the exploding Williamsburg, Brooklyn scene of the early to mid 2000's, Eric got the call to play with New Orleans based, Grammy Award winning singer/ songwriter Anders Osborne. After several flights to New Orleans to play with Anders, Bolivar moved to the Crescent City only to be forced out by Hurricane Katrina. After the flood waters receded, he moved back. Since re-relocating to the Big Easy, Bolivar's schedule has be insanely busy to say the least. He has kept up an ambitious schedule playing and/or recording with all kinds of different artists. But even with his hectic schedule, Eric still finds the time to cram in recording sessions, the occasional clinic and filming for television appearances between trips to the airport.

Eric is endorsed by Vic Firth and has been since 2001

New Orleans-born keyboardist, singer and songwriter, Ivan Neville's music career began as a teenager performing alongside his father, Aaron, and his uncles, Art, Charles and Cyril in the Neville Brothers. In 1988, his first solo record, If My Ancestors Could See Me Now, landed him a Top 40 Billboard hit with "Not Just Another Girl." An established studio and touring musician, Ivan also contributed keyboards and vocals to two Rolling Stones albums and became a member of Keith Richards' solo band, the X-Pensive Winos. He was a member of Bonnie Raitt's band from '85-'87, and performed and/or recorded with Rufus, Don Henley, Robby Robertson, the Spin Doctors,Warren Haynes and others in the years to follow. In 2003, Ivan joined up with cousin Ian Neville (son of Art) and several of New Orleans' most renowned funk musicians to perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Following Hurricane Katrina, that one-time side-project evolved into the full-time funk powerhouse now known as Dumpstaphunk, one of the foremost leaders of their genre worldwide. Dumpstaphunk independently released their debut EP Listen Hear in 2007 and first full-length studio album Everybody Want Sum in 2010. Today they are touring nationwide and overseas in support of their second full-length record, Dirty Word (July 2013, Louisiana Red Hot Records).Through the Tipitina's Foundation, Ivan has also performed benefit shows with other New Orleans musicians in support of Hurricane Katrina charities, as well as 2012 Sandy relief benefits in New York and New Orleans.

Adam Deitch began his musical odyssey at birth, being born to two Berklee college of music drummers who also played an array of instruments and sang. Surrounded by his parents eclectic musical friends and band members, Adam, through osmosis, began to absorb all the knowledge that was being passed on to him from his environment. He began playing a full drumset by age 3 and began performing with his parents at local elementary schools by age 5.

After studying piano, alto sax, music production, bass, guitar and of course the drums, Adam started a number of musical projects/bands in his hometown of Nyack NY, as well as immersing himself in the local Baptist Gospel scene as a drummer during his junior high and high school years. These experiences prepared him for his short tenure at Berklee College of music in Boston Mass.where he met countless brilliant professors and students who molded him into a more seasoned, and all around musician.

After leaving Berklee after a year, Adams Hip Hop band Fat Bag found great success in the northeast and he learned much about the music industry as they were signed to Interscope records for a development deal. When the deal stalled, Adam left the band to join the world renowned soul funk group Average White Band (AWB) and toured the world with them for 3 years. Getting to meet and learn from watching artists like AWB, Chaka Khan, Tower of Power and Earth Wind and Fire first hand at age 24 was extremely inspiring for him.

Adams next venture was with Jazz rock legend John Scofield whom he toured the globe with and co wrote two albums with, one of them (Uberjam) being nominated for a Grammy. Scofield helped Adam become acquainted with the jazz community, playing almost every Jazz Festival on earth for 3 years. Adam continued his wide musical landscape by joining Fugees frontman Wyclef Jean and platinum producer Jerry Wonder shortly after. This brought Adam to work closely with HipHop legends like Lauren Hill, DJ Quik and Akon.

After touring extensively with these groundbreaking artists, Adam decided to concentrate on his original projects, funk supergroup Lettuce and EDM powerhouse Break Science. While taking some time in between the extensive touring and recording of these bands, Adam manages to find time to do occasional international drum clinic tours for Tama drums and Zildjian cymbals as well as tour with hugely successful artists such as EDM giant Pretty Lights, and Deitchs newest band Dark Wave featuring keyboard icon John Medeski. Adam not only was the musical director for the Bonaroo festivals' first all hip hop Superjam featuring Hip Hop pioneers Wu Tang Clan, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Schoolboy Q and Solange Knowles, but has taken part in countless "superjams" with artists such as guitar god Derek Trucks, Soul icons William Bell and Dr John, and Funk legends George Porter jr and Leo Nocentelli of the Meters.

Adam also has produced tracks for a number of Hip Hop legends in his extremely scarce free time such as Talib Kweli, 50 Cent, and Pharoahe Monch and is launching his new label "Golden Wolf records" this year to showcase his evolved music production skills.
