About "Dreamless" & "It Ain't Pretty"

Pair of Funny Solo Shows Explore the Ins and Outs of Modern Motherhood

Two funny women explore their unique perspectives on motherhood in this solo show double-header at Manhattan's Stage Left Studio. Funny and insightful, Cheryl Smallman's autobiographical one-woman show "Dreamless" takes shots at marriage, ambition and guilt. At 23, Smallman became pregnant, giving up her dream of acting in exchange for being a mommy. Spending her days at the playground juggling sippy cups instead of being on stage brought comic relief, but eventually led to a nervous breakdown. It's paired with Annette Guarrasi's "It Ain't Pretty", which centers around a woman coming to terms with pregnancy -- and the growing pains that come with it.
