Marigolds is a four-piece rock band based in South Brooklyn. They are currently recording their debut album. You can find them online at www.marigoldsband.com.

"Blue Rock" out September 2014

The Chordaes were formed in August 2014 by NYC-born friends Leo Sawikin (Vocals/Guitar), Ethan Glenn (Drums), and Jesse Serrano (Bass). Leo and Ethan have been playing together since they met as middle school troublemakers, and with Jesse, have developed a truly original sound that blends power pop and alt-rock in songs that are complex yet irresistibly catchy.

The band's debut album will be released later this year. The first single and video, "Touch the Ground," expresses the album's main theme: the confusing and often fraught transition from youth to adulthood. Diffuser.fm, premiering the song, called it "A dynamic track that showcases The Chordaes' many influences – tinges of Jeff Buckley, Big Star, The Beatles, Neil Young all abound – and its theme is something most listeners can instantly relate to." Premiering the second single, "Last Song," Elmore Magazine said, "Calling The Chordaes a 'rock band' would be doing them a disservice. Their music is a diverse array of sounds and ideas, inspired by the freewheeling experimentation of Radiohead and late period Beatles while retaining a strictly pop essence."

These two songs and several others have received strong college radio airplay and have also been featured on music sites Earmilk, Pancakes and Whiskey, The Big Takeover, and more.

The Chordaes have been honing their skills in live shows around the NY area. Playing their originals and surprising covers culled from their classic rock heroes, the band has quickly achieved an intense yet fun performance style.
The debut album was recorded on the Jersey Shore at Shorefire Studios, where the array of vintage gear—centered on the famed Helios console — contributed to the classic sound. The producer was Marc Swersky, who has worked with Joe Cocker, Roger Daltrey, and many others. Contributing in the studio were top keyboard artists Alan Markley (Ron Pope, Rocket and the Ghost) and Matt Wade, as well as cellist Dave Eggar (Phillip Phillips, Evanescence), who played the strings on "Viva La Vida" and countless other hits. To quote Philly Mixtape in their recent interview with the group:
"Vibey, chill, powerful, deep… The Chordaes are here to stay."
