Defne Sahin's Unravel

Born and raised in Berlin, the New York-based singer and composer Defne ?ahin is

rapidly developing an international reputation as a versatile and creative performer,

who draws influences from time spent immersed in different countries and cultures.

At a young age Defne has extended stays in Turkey, Spain, Brazil and the US under

her belt, and is equally at home singing jazz, bossa nova, pop and Mediterranean

traditional music.

Her debut album Ya?amak - to Live with the Words of Nâz?m Hikmet was released in

2011 and was dubbed "the beginning of a successful career“ - Jazzthetik.

Her new project unravel features Defne’s own compositions as well as interpretations

of Jazz Standards and songs by Argentinian composer and pianist Guillermo Klein,

who is the producer of her next album.

Tonight she will be presenting the album with Fabian Almazan (piano), Petros

Klampanis (bass), Henry Cole (drums) and Keisuke Matsuno (guitar), all

internationally sought-after musicians who contribute their personal styles to Defne

?ahin’s music.
