About Danny Elfman's Music From the Films of Tim Burton

Lincoln Center Presents: "Danny Elfman's Music From the Films of Tim Burton"

After sold-out runs in L.A. and London, Danny Elfman now brings his multimedia celebration of the music of his friend and colleague Tim Burton to New York. Director Tim Burton's strange and beautiful films have enchanted audiences of all ages worldwide for more than three decades, from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" to "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", from "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" to "Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, Planet of the Apes" and "Edward Scissorhands". And the music of these films is almost as iconic as the films themselves. This live concert features Elfman's unforgettable film scores from Burton's films conjured vividly on stage by a full orchestra and choir and enhanced by stunning visuals of Burton's original sketches, drawings, storyboards and film clips rendered in exquisite detail on the big screen. Conducted by John Mauceri, founding director of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and featuring a live performance by Elfman singing the role of Jack Skellington from "The Nightmare Before Christmas", you'll hear the music that set the mood for all of your favorite Burton films.
