About Custom Made Music Presents: ELORA, Lazy Queen, & Lady
Guitar driven indie rock from Barcelona Spain. New E.P. "Cada día es así " available now from CMM
Brooklyn based shoegaze/noise/psych outfit. Debut E.P. "Drift" available soon from Pacific Trash
Lady is a punked-up post-shoegaze four piece hailing from the middle of Long Island, and their debut EP "Washer" churns and moans with the kind of howling landlocked loneliness that could only have originated outside of the big city. While the rough, squalling brutality of these 6 live-tracked cuts betrays Lady's beginnings as a knockabout Misfits cover band, there is a core of lonesome, interstellar country soul at the center of singer Steven Joyce's lovely melodies. "Creatures of the Night" is a wistfully romantic jam that takes its time to reveal itself fully, "Wait (If You Leave)" is a gorgeously sad punk stomper, and that only begins to summarize the riches found on this EP. The record was begun and mostly tracked way back in the old Mama Coco's facility; when that studio was decimated by floods, Lady bided its time patiently for 9 months before finally entering the brand new Bushwick studio this winter to complete vocals and mixing. We at MCFK are righteously proud of this loud and proud slab of EP, and we know you'll dig it too.
Mama Coco's Funky Kitchen is a DIY recording studio, record label, musician's collective and brain hive located in Brooklyn, NY. If you'd like to be taken off this list, just ask!
Brooklyn-based rock trio A Deer A Horse, led at the helm by Rebecca Satellite and Angela Phillips, have been bubbling up on the scene in recent years with their self-described "urgent rock & roll." Building upon the stark grittiness of their debut EP, Patience, 2015 has seen the release of singles Fighter & Gunpoint leading up to their Gunpoint/Mother Night 7". Honing their live performance at New York staples like Rough Trade, Mercury Lounge, and Pianos with the addition of drummer Dylan Teggart, ADAH has garnered praise for both their stomping stage antics and their charged intensity.
"ADAH shatters the prehistoric notions of living, demanding something present and conscious in the now..." – Impose Magazine
