About Craig Alan

Known for his powerful and moving voice, Craig Alan sings his songs with heartbreaking soul. Music written about love, loss and life, paired with the sweet sound of an acoustic guitar.

Raised in a small town in New England, Alan succumbed to the same magnetic force which draws so many young artists to New York. He went to work on studying the greatest city in the world, and how to survive in it's often harsh realities. Adapting to ever changing circumstances became a prominent theme in Alan's poetically driven lyrics. If you bend with the wind, you will never break.

After experimenting with various styles of music from Funk to Rhythm & Blues, Alan has recently gravitated back to his first love: acoustic Folk and Soul. Early influences include such iconic artists as Ray Charles, Otis Redding, The Beatles, Jim Croce, Simon & Garfunkel and a great many others from the 60's & 70's.

As a young singer, Alan grew to love and appreciate the sound of harmony. He has always been in awe of the power of the human voice. This engrained respect for beauty in music has led him back to writing songs intent on connecting with the listener on a personal and profound level.

Recent career highlights include winning 1st place in the PERFORMANCE category of 2011's International Songwriting Competition with his song, "Making Love Easy"
