Spain's José Porcel shows off the precise footwork and steamy sensuality that's made him one of the world's most famed flamenco dancers, bringing his skilled troupe of singers, dancers and musicians to the Queensborough Performing Arts Center. The acclaimed company's newest sizzling stage show, "Flamenco Fire", draws on the roots of this treasured art form created more than 700 years ago when Gypsy culture collided with the traditions of Andalusia in southern Spain. Born in Seville, Porcel began dancing at age 13, and performed with major Spanish companies like Ballet de Valencia and Ballet Nacional de España, before hitting the stage in a show at the Hollywood Bowl and then creating his own ensemble: Compañia Flamenca José Porcel.
