About Comedy & Tragedy: An Art Show
Comedy & Tragedy is a fine art show that explores the relationship between artists and comics, between comedy and tragedy. Because all tragedy needs a bit of comedy and all comedy needs a bit of tragedy.
Featuring artists: Molly Broxton, Ellen Schinderman, Nyssa Frank, Ginevra Mandelli, Kevin Hill, Annette Heully, and Heather Marie Scholl
7 artists were asked what does tragedy mean to you? What does it feel like? What does it look like? Or what might you want re-envisioned by a comic?
A range comics were then asked to submit their humorous re-titles. The only requirement was nothing hateful. This was an opportunity for comics to engage with art in a new way, for both parties to benefit from new eyes on the heaviness of life.
The result is a dynamic combination of artists and comics. Come out to the opening Friday December 4th. Or stop by any time until January 22nd, check The Experiement’s calendar and see a show while your at it.
You can participate in the exhibit by coming out and posting your own comedic title online with #ComedyTragedy
