A true world musician who's performed everywhere from Senegal and Egypt to India, Morocco and Cuba, singer and renowned flutist Colette Michaan is actually a native New Yorker, who's played in most of her hometown's hottest Latin jazz clubs. She brings her eight-piece band to Subrosa with her recently-released third disc, "Incarnate Encarna", which continues to develop her signature sound, a smooth blend of Cuban son, African and Caribbean rhythms, cha cha, R&B and more, featuring the interesting instrument combo of flute, violin, trombone and percussion.
