Cocomama: All-Female Latin Jazz Orchestra

The all-female Latin jazz band known as Cocomama provides plenty of mambo music and more with their sizzling hot combo of three vocalists, a trombonist and a rhythm section of piano, bass, drums and percussion. Now touring behind the release of "Quiero", their first full-length album, this girl-power group has performed at festivals and venues across New York and the Northeast, as well as at the prestigious Spoleto Festival in South Carolina. They've been together since '08, and their multinational musicians have played with greats like Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and many others. They'll stop in at Subrosa in Greenwich Village to show off their sound, a fusion of Afro-Cuban, Caribbean and South American rhythms.
