CHAPPO

CHAPPO is back in NYC and playing their first show since recording a new record in San Francisco this past May with producer John Vanderslice.

Dubbed ???Fucked up Space Pop??? by Wayne Coyne after playing the Flaming Lips Halloween Party, CHAPPO first caught the ear of fuzzy sci-fi rock lovers when the song ???Come Home??? from their self-released debut EP inexplicably landed in an Apple iPod commercial.

Since forming in 2009, CHAPPO have toured extensively around the US, as well as the UK and Canada, headlining tours, opening for The Flaming Lips, of Montreal, and Bear Hands as well as appearing at Bonnaroo, Osheaga and Summerfest. Manic and captivating, their live shows are a central part of understanding who and what CHAPPO is. ???To put it bluntly, CHAPPO is a band that has so much organic energy and creative originality that it???s impossible not to feel something??? To date CHAPPO have put out a pair of full length albums and a handful of EPs. Their first full-length, Moonwater, was likened to the Pixies with a dash of Grandaddy and ???with just enough psych-swirls to stay groovy,??? by Spin magazine. CHAPPO???s most recent 2015 release, Future Former Self, a genre-bending concept album about a black-hole bound space traveler named Rene, delved deeper into the world of synth-orchestrated space-rock and the stylings Pitchfork described as ???zonked-out, excellently overstuffed garage-psych.???
