About "Celebrating Stephen Sondheim"

Vanessa Williams & Broadway Stars Salute Stephen Sondheim

Actor-singer Vanessa Williams ("Into the Woods") leads a star-studded cast of Tony winners and nominees in a concert celebrating the 85th birthday of composer Stephen Sondheim. One of the most successful musical theater composers in history, Sondheim has given us the memorable tunes of such classic shows as "Sweeney Todd", "Into the Woods" and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", in addition to writing the lyrics for "West Side Story" and "Gypsy". Joining Vanessa Williams on stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center are Broadway's Judy Kuhn ("Fun Home"), James Monroe Iglehart ("Aladdin") and Tony Yazbeck ("On the Town"). They'll be under the musical direction of Sirius XM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky, and the original Sweeney Todd, Len Cariou, will also make a special appearance.
