About Cartoonist Roz Chast

"The New Yorker" Cartoonist Roz Chast: Fun 60-Minute Talk With Projected Slides

If you've flipped through virtually any issue of "The New Yorker" between 1978 and 2015, you've undoubtedly already encountered the hilarious, neurotic, altogether brilliant cartoons of Roz Chast. Her squiggly, singular takes on everyday minutiae -- guilt, anxiety, aging, families, friends, money -- offer an offbeat glimpse into the issues of our time, and more than 1,000 of her clever creations have been printed in "The New Yorker" since she first started contributing in the late '70s. Chast is also the author of several books, including her latest book for adults, "Can't We Talk About Something More Pleasant?", which chronicles her relationship with her aging parents as they shift from independence to dependence. Join the award-winning cartoonist for this 60-minute talk with projected images at NYCB Theatre at Westbury, and have your burning questions answered in the follow-up Q&A session.
